Surfing in Phillip Island, Australia

About 2 hours drive from Melbourne is the surfing treasure called Phillip Island, Australia.  This is a great place to escape the crowds and experience wild open ocean surfing.

Ambience:  Big wide open beach.  It's very exposed to the elements so if it's a windy or rainy day expect to really feel the weather here.  On a nice day, you can;t beat it and your non-surf companions will love it here.

Public Parking:  Yes.  Park here.  There is a parking fee.  Or you can find street parking.

Alternative Surf Spots

Smiths Beach.  This isn't much of a surf spot but if you have kids and if Surfer's Beach is too windy and big, this is a good alternative beach.  Park here.  Public Restrooms in parking lot.
